Smart Car Universe was created in 2005 out of necessity. At the time, founder, Les McDonald was the proud new owner of a all black 2005 Passion Smart. He loved his car but wanted more storage and towing options and there were currently none in North America. After searching high and low for a trailer hitch, Les decided to design and manufacture his own hitch for the Smart 450. After the success of the 450 hitch design, North America's first bolt on class 1 Smart Car trailer hitch, Smart Car Universe started sourcing out storage and trailer solutions that would fit the Smart's size and capabilities. The result is that storage or towing solutions purchased from Smart Car Universe have had plenty of real world testing and are a perfect fit for your 450 or 451 Smart. Our new class 1 bolt on trailer hitch for the model 451 Smart (2008 +) has 4 years of evolution and testing behind its design and is the best made, and most durable hitch for the Smart 451 on the market today.

What makes Smart Car Universe unique is our design and manufacturing principles. If something is needed, and it isn't commercially available for your Smart, chances are that we are working on bringing it to the real world. Keep your eyes peeled for some new and innovative products coming soon!

Smart Car Universe is focused on storage and towing solutions. We don't carry everything that is out there for the Smart because we want to provide quality and knowledgeable service without compromise to our high standards.
